mntngro.com is a discovery map for one of Europe's most compact, most under-documented countries. Curated, editorial, adventurous — the kind of place a well-travelled friend would point you to, not a crowdsourced list sorted by how many reviews a venue has.

We write about Montenegro the way we'd describe it over dinner. Coastal towns that feel Venetian by morning and Mediterranean by afternoon. Mountains that go on for longer than the country has any right to hold. Trails, viewpoints, konobas, hotels — all mapped, all with a point of view.

Everything here is one of three things: a place we've been, a place a local we trust sends visiting friends, or a place we're keeping an eye on before we recommend it. We don't list venues we wouldn't actually send you to.
