How places earn their way here

Every place on this map was chosen. This page explains by whom, and on what basis.

How we choose

We start wide: for every city and category we gather the facts on far more places than we will ever publish — locations, opening hours, contacts, and many public signals of how loved a place demonstrably is. Then we choose narrowly. Only a small selection per category makes the cut, and smaller towns get shorter lists rather than padded ones. The selection is ours, and it is the entire point: if everything is listed, nothing is curated.

No one can pay to be on the List. There are no sponsored placements, no featured spots, no boosted rankings — not today, not later. When we eventually earn money, it will be from tools we build for venue owners, never from selling positions on a list you trust.

How we write

Every word on this site is written by us. We never republish reviews, never copy descriptions, and never display other platforms' ratings or review counts. What you read is our take — researched, opinionated, and owned. When we describe a grill as “heroic portions, honest prices,” that is a claim a person here stands behind, not an average of strangers' star ratings.

How facts stay honest

Addresses, phone numbers, and opening hours are collected automatically and then verified by people over time. Venue pages show a “verified as of” date once a human has checked the facts against live sources — and say so plainly when they haven't been yet. Montenegro's coast is fiercely seasonal; when in doubt, call ahead, and tell us if we're wrong. Every page has a report link, and we fix fast.

We want the facts about your place to be right, and we'd rather hear from you than guess. Write to hello@mntngro.com to correct details, claim your listing, or — if you'd rather not be listed at all — to be removed. We honour removal requests, full stop.
